smol is something or someone that is extremely small and just completely adorable. Given the tiny size of our capsules, you can see why we felt it appropriate. We’ve probably witnessed most spelled and spoken versions: small, smal, smalle, smal, smolle, shmol, smole or smool but it’s smol (rhymes with toll), uses lowercase ‘s’ and its roots lie somewhere in internet slang.
It seems that when we only see words written down and not spoken aloud we can spend years saying them wrong. Did you know that your morning cup of coffee is espresso and not expresso? Trendy healthy food can really throw you for a loop too. It's not quin-oh-ah but rather keen-wah (quinoa)...and that fruity smoothie bowl doesn't have ah-KAI in it, it is ah-sah-EE (acai).
Brand names are notoriously tricky. Many are foreign or want to sound foreign so we end up with no clue how to pronounce them.
